How to Migrate from cPanel to Panelica — Without Losing a Single File

Note: The migration tool for cPanel and Plesk sources is currently in beta. Panelica-to-Panelica migrations have passed all tests. cPanel and Plesk adapters are functional but under active development.

Leaving cPanel Does Not Mean Starting Over

The number one fear when switching server panels is losing data. Will my websites break? Will email stop working? Do I need to reconfigure everything from scratch?

With Panelica, the answer is no. The built-in migration engine does the heavy lifting for you.

What Gets Migrated Automatically

  • All your websites — every file, every folder, permissions preserved
  • Databases — MySQL databases with all tables, users, and passwords intact
  • Email accounts — mailboxes, forwarding rules, and existing messages
  • DNS records — A, CNAME, MX, TXT records carried over
  • SSL certificates — existing certificates are transferred, new ones issued automatically
  • PHP settings — your PHP version preference per domain is maintained
  • Cron jobs — scheduled tasks are recreated on the new server

How It Works — 4 Simple Steps

Step 1: Install Panelica on Your New Server

Get a fresh Ubuntu or Debian server. Run the Panelica installer — it takes about 3 minutes. Your new panel is ready.

Step 2: Connect to Your cPanel Server

In the Panelica dashboard, go to Migration and enter your cPanel server address and credentials. Panelica connects securely and scans for websites, databases, and email accounts.

Step 3: Select What to Migrate

You will see a complete list of everything on your cPanel server. Select all — or pick specific domains if you want a partial migration. Click Start Migration.

Step 4: Watch It Happen

Panelica shows you real-time progress. Files are transferred via encrypted connection, databases are imported with original user credentials preserved, and email accounts are recreated with all messages intact.

When it is done, your websites are live on the new server. Update your domain DNS to point to the new IP address, and you are finished.

What About WordPress Sites?

WordPress sites get special treatment during migration. Panelica automatically:

  • Detects WordPress installations
  • Preserves your wp-config.php settings
  • Keeps database credentials intact — no manual editing needed
  • Maintains plugin and theme configurations
  • Optionally enables Redis cache for faster performance after migration

Zero Downtime Migration

Your old cPanel server keeps running during the entire process. Visitors continue seeing your website without interruption. Only when you change DNS records does traffic switch to the new Panelica server. This means:

  • No maintenance window needed
  • No "site under construction" page
  • No lost emails during transition
  • You can verify everything works before switching

Also Migrates From

Panelica does not just migrate from cPanel. The migration engine also supports:

  • Plesk — websites, databases, email, DNS
  • DirectAdmin — full account migration
  • CyberPanel — sites and databases
  • Other Panelica servers — server-to-server transfer

Ready to Make the Switch?

Stop paying escalating cPanel license fees. Migrate your websites to Panelica in minutes — not hours, not days. Everything transfers automatically, and your visitors will not notice a thing.

Install Panelica, connect your old server, and click Migrate. It is that simple.
