First Login & Setup Wizard

The very first time you open a freshly installed panel, Panelica greets you with the Setup Wizard: a full-screen, guided configuration flow. You cannot reach the login screen before completing it, and once setup is complete the wizard is gone for good: visiting /setup afterwards simply redirects to the login page.

What you will see

The wizard opens with a short curtain animation over a starfield background; the curtains carry the Panelica motto "Isolated Control Architecture". They part to reveal a centered card with the Panelica logo and its "Server Management" tagline. A language selector sits in the top-right corner: Panelica ships with 31 languages, and the selector lists the ones enabled in the panel's settings. Switching the language re-fetches the Terms of Service in the selected language too.

A row of four step dots under the logo tracks your progress through the middle steps.

Step 1: Welcome

A single message ("Let's Get You Started") and a Begin Setup button. Pick your language from the top-right selector before continuing if you prefer a language other than English.

Step 2: Administrator Account

This step creates the panel's root administrator account:

Two helpers sit next to the password field: an eye icon to show or hide the password, and a Generate button that fills both fields with a strong random 16-character password and reveals it so you can save it.

Step 3: License Activation

The license step offers two paths:

Start a 14-day free trial (the top button). One click activates a full-feature trial using the email address from the previous step. No payment details are needed and there is no registration form to fill in: a panelica.com account is created for that email automatically and its sign-in details are emailed to you, so you can manage the license later.

Or enter a license key (the field shows the XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format) and click Activate License; the button stays disabled until you type a key. A "Get a license key" link opens the pricing page if you do not have one yet, and a Back button returns to the previous step.

Step 4: Panel Access Port

The panel listens on port 8443 by default. Here you can move it to any port between 1024 and 65535; a "Current: 8443" hint next to the field always shows the active port. The button label adapts: if you left the port unchanged it reads Skip (Keep Current); if you typed a new one it reads Change Port. A Back button returns to the license step.

If you do change the port, the panel first checks that the new port is actually free; a port that is already in use is rejected with an error. On success the change is applied immediately and your browser is redirected to the same setup flow on the new port.

Step 5: Terms of Service & EULA

The terms open in a full-screen reading view showing the version number and last-update date, with a fullscreen toggle for comfortable reading. The text is loaded in the language you selected.

To finish, tick the acceptance checkbox and click Accept & Complete Setup; the button stays disabled until the box is ticked. A notice above the buttons explains that your IP address, timestamp and acceptance are recorded for legal compliance (the wizard also records whether you scrolled the terms to the end and how long you spent on them).

Choosing Decline & Exit instead shows a farewell screen and, after a few seconds, the curtains close; a Changed My Mind button brings the terms right back.

Done

The final screen confirms Setup Complete! and a Go to Login button takes you to the login page. Sign in with:

• Username: root
• Password: the one you set in Step 2

You will land on the Dashboard.
