Add a Server
Adding a server takes two short steps: create a link code on the server you want to manage, then paste it into the master. The code replaces addresses, keys and passwords; nothing else has to be typed or exchanged.
Servers › Add Serverhttps://YOUR-SERVER-IP:8443/servers/add (ROOT only)Step 1: create a link code on the server to add
- On the server you want to manage, open Panel Settings › Master Connection.
- Optionally enter a Label for the master, then click Create Link Code.
- Copy the code. It is shown only once, works once, expires after 15 minutes, and binds this server to the master that uses it.
The same code can be created on the command line:
panelica node link-code
Codes that have not been used yet are listed under Codes waiting to be used, where they can be cancelled. See Master Connection.
Step 2: paste the code on the master
- On the master, open Servers › Add Server. The first step shows where the code is created; click Next.
- Paste the code into Link code. The server's address, host name, certificate key and the remaining time appear under the field.
- Enter a Name (for example
Istanbul 2) and optional Tags, comma separated. Leave Place new accounts on this server on if new accounts may be created there. - Click Connect.

Before the server is saved, the master checks it and shows the result of each check:
| Check | What it confirms |
|---|---|
| Server reached | The master can open the server's panel address |
| Signed API access confirmed | The master's new key works on the server |
| Compatible version | The server runs a Panelica version that supports multi-server management |
| License | The server's license allows it to be managed by a master |
| Clock difference | The clocks of both servers agree |
| Certificate | The certificate is valid or pinned, and how long it is valid |
When every check passes, the server is listed and checked every 30 seconds. Go to server opens its page, Open panel signs in to its own panel in a new tab, and Add another starts again.
From the command line
panelica servers add pnlc-link:... --name "Istanbul 2" --tags web,istanbul
panelica servers add pnlc-link:... --address https://203.0.113.10:8443 # server behind NAT
panelica servers add pnlc-link:... --no-new-accounts
If adding fails
The master names the reason, for example:
- the code is incomplete (copy the whole code), has expired, or was already used or cancelled;
- the server could not be reached, with the network reason;
- the server's Panelica version is not compatible (update both panels);
- the server's license does not include being managed (it needs Professional, Business or Enterprise);
- the server is temporarily refusing link attempts from this panel.
Fix the cause and create a new link code; a used, cancelled or expired code cannot be reused.
