Multi-Server Overview
Multi-server management lets one Panelica panel, the master, list, monitor and manage other Panelica servers from a single window. It is a remote control, not a cluster: every connected server keeps its own panel, database, services and websites, and the master sends it signed requests over HTTPS.
Panel location
Servershttps://YOUR-SERVER-IP:8443/servers (ROOT only)What the master can do
- List every connected server with its status, Panelica version, live CPU, RAM, disk and network use, and account count. See Server list and server page.
- Open another server's panel pages inside the master window, without a second login. See Manage a server from the master.
- Show the domains and email accounts of every server in one table. See Domains and email on all servers.
- Create hosting accounts on this panel, on a chosen server, or automatically on the server with the most room. See Account placement.
- Sign in to a server's own panel in a new tab with a one-time login, put a server in maintenance, and keep a history of every operation. See Task history.
How the servers are connected
| Pairing | A one-time link code created on the server to be added, valid 15 minutes. See Add a server |
| Transport | HTTPS to the server's panel port (8443 by default). No SSH is used |
| Authentication | Every request is HMAC-signed with a key that never crosses the network after pairing, and is accepted only from the master's IP address |
| Certificate | The server's certificate key is pinned; a renewed certificate is trusted again only after a signed proof |
| Permissions | The managed server chooses Full management or Limited for each master. See Master Connection |
Independent by design: there is no shared database and nothing is replicated between servers. If the master goes offline, the websites, mail and DNS on the other servers keep running, and each server can still be managed from its own panel.
Licensing
| Role | License |
|---|---|
| Master panel | Enterprise (includes the multi-server module) |
| Connected server | Professional, Business or Enterprise |
The Servers module is shown to the ROOT administrator. A panel that does not use it can hide it under Theme Customizer › Menu Sections.
Limits
- Moving an existing account from one server to another is not part of multi-server management yet. The master places new accounts and manages existing ones where they are.
- Each server hosts the web, mail and DNS of its own accounts; one account's services are not split across machines.
